Because of the power outage in the office, we went home early yesterday. That's why I was able to watch Kris Bernal as Koreana. It's not a secret that I'm a fan of Koren drama and Korean stars that I even have a blog set for such topics named Asian Finest Stars. For now, I'm enjoyed watching and reading about Kris Bernal as Koreana shown every afternoon via GMA 7.

There are two things that I love in this new afternoon show. I'm a fan of Kris Bernal and I like the story of Koreana. Since I love cooking, I'll definitely follow the story of the show because it involves food, restaurants and the Korean culture. Steven Silva also plays well the character given to him as a restaurant chain manager. What's his connection with Jenna in the show?

I'm so happy to know that Nikki Gil was nominated as Best Actress in Vietnamese film fest for The Red Shoes movie. I'm so intrigued with the story of "The Red Shoes" movie since it was based with the fictional red shoes stolen from the array of shoes owned by the former First Lady Imelda Marcos. The movie "The Red Shoes" was top-billed by Marvin Agustin and Nikki Gil. It was produced by Unitel which also stars Liza Lorena, Tessie Tomas, Tetchie Agbayani, Tirso Cruz III, and Iwa Moto. We hope Niki Gil will bag the Best Actress Award then in the 1st Vietnam International Film Festival.

CNN Heroes: Vote for Efren Penaflorida

Efren Penaflorida is one of the ordinary persons to be voted upon under CNN Heroes. Various campaigns were spearheaded for him to win CNN Heroes award. Efren mentioned in his interviews that he would use the money to help street children more in case they would win the award.

Here is the campaign:

For the past 12 years, Peñaflorida and his team of teen volunteers have taught basic reading and writing to children living on the streets. Their main tool: A pushcart classroom. Stocked with books, pens, tables and chairs, his Dynamic Teen Company recreates a school setting in unconventional locations such as the cemetery and municipal trash dump. Peñaflorida knows firsthand the adversity faced by these children. Born into a poor family, he lived in a shanty near the city dump site. But he says he refused to allow his circumstances to define his future.

"Instead of being discouraged, I promised myself that I would pursue education," he recalls. "I will strive hard; I will do my best."

Angel Locsin is one of the best show business personalities in Philippine television. She was recently nominated for Best Actress Award at International Emmy Awards via her Lobo or The Wolf telenovela. Her movie Love Me Again: Land Down Under which was filmed at Bukidnon and in an outback Australian location is also my favorite. Here, she has a fan art which I rate as 9 out of 10.

When she played Babaeng Impakya recently via Darna, I was amazed by how she managed to remain cute and yet scary sometimes. It is amazing that the story was truly crafted in her favor as the dreaded angelic twin of a scary monster. She was both a human being and a monster in which kids were afraid to watch. Yet, when the angelic and kind-hearted twin comes into view, we all love her portyaral of the character. The most freezing moment is when she decided to give her life for the benefit of the good. She just want to stop the evil deeds being scattered by her twin monster who always invite her to scare and kill people in the most ironic way.

There is a mixture of fear and fun also in the character played by Nadine Samonte which made the public glued to their TV screens. The hint of mystery and comedy and all brings the story of the Babaeng Impakta so amazing.

Typhoon Ondoy: Local Stars with Humanitarian Heart

It is nice to know that despite the destruction cased by typhoon Ondoy many people still offered and gave their valuable time and resources to aid the victims of the flood. Government officials who rendered help to the victims gave so much hope for them to start a new life after the calamity. One of the most touching scenes are those local show business personalities like Jericho Rosales, Gerald Anderson, Ryan Agoncillo, Judy Ann Santos, Dingdong Dantes, KC Conception, Kris Aquino and many others who spent time to help the relief operations of the flood victims. In times like this, people showed their concern to victims of Typhoon Ondoy and their families.

As of this time, more than a hundred already died and others were missing and rescue operations are still ongoing. The giving of relief goods are also continued for there are still families who just started clean-up operations in their houses in the affected areas. I am an avid fan of Richard Gutierrez and I am a follower of his primetime shows at GMA. At this time, he was charged of Reckless Imprudence Resulting in Homicide by the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor due to a vehicular accident that happened last May 22, 2009 (PEP.ph). His PA died due to the said accident which is also the basis of filing the case against him.

If I were his lawyer, I would research cases that would support my opposition on the cause of action that he violated traffic rules, allegedly overspeeding. In vehicular mishaps and a person died, a person is presumed criminally liable if he violated traffic laws. However, there are many ways to contradict this rule.
It is up to the lawyer of Richard then.

Anger

There are times that I feel hatred towards other people especially if they caused so much pain in my heart. I could not forget their names but I already forgot what they did to me. I often see them on thew streets, in Facebook, in Friendster, and even in my hometown. The sad thing is that these people forgot that they did something bad against me. Maybe because I do not treat them as enemies.

There is one technique in order to avoid anger. I have been using this one for such a long time. It is good to hold one's anger until it will go away in a man's mind and heart. It means delaying one's anger. This is the best technique especially when there are heated arguments. I will keep us away from too much contention. This technique must also be couple with prayers, that at least, forgiveness and understanding will rule. Whatever it may be, our anger could make or break us. So, there is a need to tame one's temper then.

The Crippling Economy

I got a picture from NewGeography.com under the article entitled "State of the Economy June 2009" which is so funny but a realistic frame of the current economy. Indeed, the economy is like the crippling pig that needs crutches to move on. It seems funny but the reality should be our gauge in doing something for the country.

Aside from that, the government is trying hard to save the economy but still the problem is existing. Many people lost their jobs and crime rate is increasing. Nevertheless, there is still hope if we will just work hard and cooperate for the betterment of the economy.
